something something Lord's Work.

But seriously, this tool is actually a godsend... and that's understating it. Thanks so much for your hard work, I super appreciate you! 🙌🙌🙌

<3

A fantastic tool, I use it all the time now. It takes maybe 3% of the time that it'd take to do the same job in GIMP.

Use tips for newbies :
If you're getting an error from a particular Method, there's a "Select Methods" button that lets you trim that one out of the roster. If you find yourself reliably choosing results from a small handful of the Methods, you can cut the processing time roughly in half by only using those Methods.

If the whole thing errors out repeatedly, even after F5'ing the browser, just give it a few hours. I've yet to have it fail for me for two consecutive days in a row.

I’m in the process of upgrading the tool, new version should be 5-10 times faster :D

Again same problem, it is not working...

It is not working can you please check @Fyrean?

I'm running the backend for this on my server and building a custom front end for it and I just wanted to stop back by and say thank you. This is going to help so many people. We'll be linking back to the main page for BGBYE. Looking forward to more of your work.

i am developing  one with 10-12 AI methods and 4 Traditional methods     it works on videos and imgs runs local advanced AI Methods https://panda-studios-llc.itch.io/bambooclip

can you make this process animated gifs please

okie

hello! is it possible to add a way to export the transparent videos as gifs? when saving as a .webm i cant find out how to convert it into a transparent gif....

try EZGIF

i did but it always gives it a white background, not transparent :(

INSPYRENET takes forever to load, it's annoying when you want to just quickly simply remove bg

if you just need to use inspyrenet, I recommend this free huggingface space which is much faster: https://huggingface.co/spaces/gokaygokay/Inspyrenet-Rembg

awesome tool! all hail mangolion for the freeware :D

Pretty cool of you to host this free! Thank you. I added some features to it that your welcome to use. New models/batch processing/gridview/vite server backend

Sorry I was busy with my new job, I’ll take a look, thank you!

WONDERFUL TOOL! Please let me know how I can send you a tip for your work

Great tool, thanks for keeping this up for free :)

It has stopped working again.

This thing is always broken....

Not working currently.

Absolute goat you are !

Awesome work here !!! results are better than several commercial tools. can I pay you a coffee somewhere through a Donate button ? Please let me know. Great job, man !!!!

Hey! Awesome work! Thank you for creating this tool for free it's absolutely amazing 🫶

I have one request if you are still working on it, could you please add a way to save which models do you want to use? It's a real pain to have to select the models I want to use every time.

If you keep updating it please add a way to donate or make it paid!

I’ll try!

Literally upload one picture, it worked great. Once I have uploaded second, errors, errors, errors

That could mean the picture size is too big

Hello, this is something that i was looking for! I tried to run the model locally, i manage to start the app, but whenever i put a image i get a error message "Error processing image with tracer" and that is for all models... please help :(

P.S. It is also not working for me in the web version here....

Thank you for your efforts!

seems to be erroring again😭 thank u for the fantastic tool🙏

Error processing..... please fix the issue

I’m looking into it but server has been going down more frequently, I should move the video processing part to a separate server …

Sorry about that

Nothing to be sorry for dude, you did a wonderful job, God knows how many users are flooding the servers with requests. That is because you made a great tool, a tool which I don't even see on several of my premium subscribed ai websites which do offer something similar but not as good as yours and they are getting paid for it. Having this said, I run into those error messages too, but to me it is obvious who is causing them....me.....amongst others :) And of course we could debate about the cause, but I think I'm not far from right with my assumptions :) And if I am, you still made a great tool bro!

No need to be sorry bro, what for should you be sorry? For spending countless hours and days getting this tool to work so others can start using it without inhibitions, exhausting or flooding the server with requests (just like I did a moment ago probably;)) and then blame the tool or its creator :) I happen to know just a little about all that is involved with coding this stuff, so I know you spent a lot of time getting this thing up and running.. That itself is amazing, and not done on a lazy Monday, another thing that makes it more amazing is that this functionality is simply  being offered by several sites which require a paid subscription. I know, since I am a paying subscriber on numerous sites and boards. I have to pay to make up for my lack of talent :) But what I lack in talent I make up in appreciation so thumbs up dude!! And I won't make many friends by my next statement, but that is okay, it teaches me to cope with a lack of friends as well: consider a small contribution one way or the other, because I don't think you can rent servers without paying for them yourself. Again I'm quite sure I am right :)

Regards from a beginning python coder who will never come even close to your league :)

@Fyrean this tool came in clutch fr but it's not working, could you please fix the issue? Would appreciate it massively.

@Fyrean It is not working again! I've just found this amazing project no more than a few hours ago, then I had to go out for a few hours... I get back and for some unlucky reason it's NOW decided it's the best time to brake.

Can you please fix this as soon as you can?

Thank you BTW for bgbye... this is an amazing website and project!

I hope I can once again use this again soon as I had litrally no time to truly test this out Before this happening.

Fingers crossed!

oh it bluescreened :c rebootin

I must have missed it, because its still saying error processing image. Also thank you so much for getting back. Really appreciate man. :)

Hey there:)

Thanks for a great tool.

I have a GPU, Nividia, but when I run the local installation I only get an option to use cpu

Is there something I missed, or a way to get it to force GPU rendering locally? Otherwise it's quoting 3 hrs for a 6 second clip, and I have a good laptop and RTX3080 card...

What am I missing? Any suggestions are welcome. thanks :)

broken

temp internet connection lost, next you can wait for around 15-20 mins and it should restore on its own, I’m running this on my potato pc afterall

Nothing works anymore, can you fix this?

fixed, server died while I was away at work

(+1)

Hi, is it broken? Getting errors on all models.

😍

(+1)

this is absolutely phenomenal, thank you so so so so much!!!! bless!!!!

(+1)(-1)

Hi!! Amazing tool, soooo helpful and easy and fun to use!

Getting errors on all models today. Not sure if it heeds a kick or what!

Thanks again for making the tool :)

my University has a power outage :(

(+1)

hello, extremly helpful, thank you for your work, is there a way to use this as in batch like with folder input and folder output ? if there's a way i would like to donate something, tell me how ;)

(2 edits)

do you have an nvidia GPU? If you do you can quickly install and run the best model yourself (inspyrenet) You only need to run one command to install (as one line):

pip install --extra-index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/cu118 transparent-background

Then to run it on an entire folder just

transparent-background --source FOLDERNAME

If you don’t have a GPU then the install command is

pip install transparent-background

for CPU-only (alot slower)

Yes i do have a 4080 :D , works well, thank you for sharing !
if people follow this path, the command to launch the UI is

transparent-background-gui

Hey man first off, this site has been a huge help for me as a student who needs to do multiple images for my various projects.

I'm currently facing a problem wherein my attempts always show errors and I can't remove any backgrounds as of the moment

Have you tried again recently?  I suspect some of the dependencies were down for a while - I tried to install a local version via their github and had some issues too around the same time you posted this.

The online version is working for me today, though.  Try it again?

Thx but The only usable one was BRIA

Nice too thx for the developers. I will donate If I had money (im 10)

sry I’ll restart the server. Also keep in mind many models cannot accept extreme image sizes (too narrow, tall, or too small)

Ok :)

BTW my account got hacked once I used remove.bg

(+1)

thank you SO MUCH <3

Do you have a kofi or something? would love to support this tool, I use it all the time for making NPCs in my D&D games :D

This is very cool! The only thing that i have noticed is that with the "inspyrenet" model it doesn't work if the image is any wider than square, is this a limitation of that model or some sort of bug? Other than that love this tool, and thanks for hosting it on your own server!

(1 edit)

Its a limitation of the model yes. I’m glad you like the app!

thanks! That explains a lot. Do you have any future plans to include other models similar to inspyrenet that could support wider images? Since i noticed that for basically every single image i have tried, that model seemed to work best.
