A free background remover app using 10 cutting-edge AI models.

A new version is in the works that will address server crashes from DDOS, memory leaks, also with 2 new cutting edge bg removal methods. Stay tuned!

I understand the challenge of meticulously removing backgrounds from images, especially when dealing with flowing hair. That's why I created this tool so anyone can remove backgrounds from images and videos for free! You can even remove the sky from landscape photos. Get creative!

I've released the source code for this project. You can run this locally but the min specs are:
- An Nvidia GPU with at least 6GB VRAM
- 16GB RAM

Hey man first off, this site has been a huge help for me as a student who needs to do multiple images for my various projects.

I'm currently facing a problem wherein my attempts always show errors and I can't remove any backgrounds as of the moment

Thx but The only usable one was BRIA

Nice too thx for the developers. I will donate If I had money (im 10)

sry I’ll restart the server. Also keep in mind many models cannot accept extreme image sizes (too narrow, tall, or too small)

Ok :)

BTW my account got hacked once I used remove.bg

thank you SO MUCH <3

Do you have a kofi or something? would love to support this tool, I use it all the time for making NPCs in my D&D games :D

This is very cool! The only thing that i have noticed is that with the "inspyrenet" model it doesn't work if the image is any wider than square, is this a limitation of that model or some sort of bug? Other than that love this tool, and thanks for hosting it on your own server!

Its a limitation of the model yes. I’m glad you like the app!

thanks! That explains a lot. Do you have any future plans to include other models similar to inspyrenet that could support wider images? Since i noticed that for basically every single image i have tried, that model seemed to work best.

extremely useful especially since i've been working with pixel art and no other tool could remove the background without leaving nasty traces behind, does this have any limitations on nsfw? similar tools like this usually detect and block that kinda stuff.

One more thing u could improve on this tool is add an option to paint back areas, sometimes it removes things that don't make sense

(+1)

no limitations (aside from max image size). I tried to add a “restore” brush but its not working yet sry

i hope u will figure that out somehow one day because its what holding this tool back the most imo

I have a question. I am still learning so i want to know how much you pay to host this website? Is it expensive to run this on webapp?

(+3)

it is hosted on my home PC so there’s no hosting cost. I use Cloudflare tunnel (free service) to connect my PC server (its a nodeJS webserver + python ML server) to my domain.

the problem is Xfinity keeps dropping my home internet connection >.>

Ohh so you only need to pay for electricity cost only. Thanks

do note that when you host such a computationally expensive project on your own hardware, and it gets used by many users, you’ll have to expect your GPU to wear out faster

(+2)

thats awesome that you are running this on your own server very inspirational. because this app works great

Is it just me or has it stopped working recently?

server occasionally restarts, but sometimes it failed sry

Oh, no worries!

Amazing tool btw, I've been using it ever since the first release pretty much :)

Much appreciated!

Excellent tool! Image had some wire mesh in it, and the Inspyrenet algorithm worked perfectly for removing the background between the wires!
